10 TECHNIQUES FOR TEACHING THROUGH DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR
Students with Autistic Disorder have noticeably abnormal development in social interaction and communication and a restricted repertoire of activity and interests. Such students often show a preoccupation with one narrow interest and an insistence on following routines.
True perspective to the nature of disruptive behavior When you are trying to speak to your class over a screaming student or teach a lesson while dodging projectiles will bring. Often, there are elements within the environment which evoke the disruptive behavior. Matt Linder will explore disruptive behavior maintained by Attention and Escape from Demands during this workshop, providing techniques that will help achieve more lasting therapeutic behavior change, or avoid the occurrence of disruptive behavior altogether. Utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis participants will learn about Function, Antecedent Interventions, Extinction, Replacement Behavior, Differential Reinforcement and more. Take the first steps towards decreasing these teaching interruptions today.
