The assessment conducted at the end of the year in Texas State is called State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR).

The test window for STAAR for the year 2022 is as follows:

Grades 3–8 Reading: May 11, 2023 (Wed)

Online Administration Test Date(s):

The STAAR assessments are designed so that students can complete the 3rd–5th grade assessments in two hours and the 6th–8th grade assessments in three hours. If needed, students can take up to four hours to complete their assessment. The testing time begins after all directions are read to the students. Students may be allowed to take breaks during testing, potentially including breaks for snacks or meals.
