The American colonists have to formulate a plan to declare independence from Great Britain. Although the reasons vary, at the core, they want independence because they believe Great Britain takes away the rights of the colonists. But, without any real specificity of those reasons, other countries will have a difficult time supporting this new nation, and they must accumulate support if they are going to be able to break away.
