Tabitha and Melony had just started
ballet classes. The girls had their own
ballet shoes and everything. Each Wednesday they went after school to
Sally’s School of Stars to
practice.
“We love Ms. Sally!” Tabitha would say. “She’s the best!”
“You got that
right!” Melony would reply.
One day at
practice, Tabitha took a fall.
“Yikes, my leg hurts!” She yelled.
“Oh, no!” replied Melony. “What happened?”
“Help me, please, get Ms. Sally, NOW!” cried Tabitha.
Melony ran to the front of the class and tugged at Ms Sally.
“Dear, what is wrong?” asked Ms. Sally.
“HURRY! HURRY! HURRY! Tabitha is hurt BAD!” screamed Melony.
“OH, MY!”
Ms. Sally ran to find Tabitha.
Tabitha sat crying on the floor. “I don’t know what happened.” She whimpered. “It hurts really awful.”
“Go get an ice pack for me, please, Melony. You know where they are, dear. Now, don’t
worry. I’m calling your mom on my
cell, Tabitha.” Ms. Sally said this in such a sweet calming voice. Tabitha
quit crying when Melony put the ice pack where Ms. Sally said to put it. “Thanks,” she said.
In a few minutes, Tabitha’s mom came. She carried her to the car.
“Will you call us as soon as you know something, please?” asked Ms. Sally.
“Yes, of course.” said Tabitha’s mom.
Soon they got the call. It was just a sprained ankle. She would be fine in a few days.
“What a good thing to hear.” sighed Ms. Sally.
