Announcing the NSF Game Maker Awards – A Partnership to
Inspire the Next Generation of Innovators
Unlocking Creativity and Innovation with the NSF Game Maker Awards
Lumos Learning is thrilled to partner with the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) to bring an exciting and educational opportunity to K-12 students across the country: the 2024 NSF Game Maker Awards. This competition invites students to design video games that envision life in 2100, combining their creativity with technical skills in a fun and engaging project.
Why the NSF Game Maker Awards?
The NSF Game Maker Awards aim to inspire the next generation of thinkers and creators by fostering a love for STEM and encouraging collaboration and inclusivity. This initiative celebrates the ingenuity of young minds by encouraging them to create engaging and educational games. Whether students are just starting out in game design or are already passionate about it, this challenge provides an excellent platform to develop and showcase their talents.
About NSF
NSF is an independent federal agency established almost 75 years ago by Congress. It is tasked with keeping the U.S. at the leading edge of discovery in science and engineering to the benefit of all, without barriers to participation. In commemoration of its 75th anniversary, NSF is launching this video game design challenge for elementary, middle, and high school students across the United States. The Challenge is part of a broader strategy to enhance the visibility and understanding of NSF’s contributions to science and education while making STEM accessible and exciting to a diverse audience of young learners.
