Which of the following expressions would have a value that is triple the
value of the expression shown here?

(88 + 17) ÷ 6 + 9

A) (88 + 17) ÷ 6 + 9 x 3

B) 3 x (88 + 17) ÷ 6 + 9

C) 3 x [(88 + 17) ÷ 6 + 9] (Correct Answer)

D) 3 x 88 + 17 ÷ 6 + 9

Explanation:
In order for the new expression to have a value that is triple the value of the original expression, the entire original expression has to be multiplied by 3. The only answer choice that works is the third choice. The other choices only triple part of the original expression, not the entire value.
